Credit Bureaus
Credit bureaus are responsible for tracking and saving our credit history. The three national credit bureaus are: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. They all track and save our data in similar but different ways. One difference is the way each credit bureau tracks our data, not all may have the same information. We may find that our credit card, for example, is only reporting in one bureau and not the others. Also, the way the data may be displayed could be displayed differently in each bureau. One thing that is similar is that all bureaus have a FICO scoring system. The Fico score is used by organizations, like car dealers, loan officers, banks, and others. They use your score to determine how credit worthy you are. The higher your fico score, the more likely you are to get approved for a loan. Also, the Fico score will determine how much interest you will have to pay for a loan. So, the better your score, the more you will save. Can there be errors in your credit profiles? The answer is yes. It is important for you to check your credit report from time to time. This will help you find errors that can come up. And if you find errors, you can fix them. And if you are not sure of how to fix the errors, not to worry, we are here for you.
