What is a good credit score

It depends on exactly what you are seeking to accomplish. There are several different types of loans; autos, mortgage or revolving such as credit cards or lines of credit. When you reach the excellent credit score category you can enjoy lower rates usually followed by discounts.

Take for instance an auto loan, $350 for a 1.9% interest rate for a $20,000 loan for 60 months. However, for that same loan you could be at a payment of $508 for the same $20,000 at 60 months. Big difference, almost a savings of $9,500. Scores in the high 600’s aren’t necessarily bad, but they won’t qualify you for all loans or the best rates.
